Negril Life:
Things to do in Negril and more …

3 REASONS TO VISIT NEGRIL

Negril began life as a small fishing village in the westernmost part of Jamaica. It is a popular tourist destination and considered one of the best places to visit in Jamaica.

The West End of Negril is an extension of Negril, separated by a small river. It offers more secluded, upscale accommodations and has more tourist-friendly amenities than Negril.

The West End of Negril offers visitors a more intimate and luxurious experience than the bustling downtown area.

Reason 1 – The Gorgeous Beaches & Sunsets in Negril, Jamaica

Negril sits in the west of Jamaica and as befits a seaside town, has outstandingly beautiful sunsets all year round. It boasts the longest beach in Jamaica, Seven Mile Beach, regularly cited by travel magazines as being among the top ten beaches in the world.

Coated in silky, golden white sand, the beach is made up of two bays (Bloody Bay to the north, and Long Bay to the south) Strictly speaking the beach is actually a little less than 7 miles in length, with Bloody Bay being around 2 miles, and Long Bay being just under 5 miles. Bloody Bay is home to the large, all-inclusive resorts, and Long Bay has all-inclusiveS and smaller, family-run hotels. It’s the perfect place to hang out for the day and take in the relaxed vibes of Negril.

Once you pass the beach road, you head south to the West End Road area lined with smaller boutique guest houses and hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops that offer a quieter, more private experience. The West End Road overlooks the Caribbean Sea and the properties nestled on the cliff side, have access to waters perfect for snorkelling, diving and swimming, with outstanding views of the Caribbean Sea … and sunset of course.

Reason 2 – Negril’s Favourite Restaurants

There are many restaurants to choose from in Negril, but not all of them are worth your time or money. They can be grouped into those on the Beach Road (Norman Manley Boulevard) and those nestled on the cliffs in the West End area of Negril. Here are the restaurants in Negril that you can try on your next visit.

On the Beach Road favourites include: Kenny’s Italian Café – run by a Kenny, a Jamaican with a love of Italian food & drink. www.Instagram.com/italiancafejamaica other The www.charelainn.com has great service and lovely food.

Along the West End Road is Pushcart, part of the Rockhouse Hotel a beautifully positioned, high end café and restaurant. It can be booked via www.rockhouse.com website

I would be remiss not to mention Begona Bar & Grill at Begona Cliff Hotel, one of the newest boutique hotels along the West End Road. It has excellent service and outstanding food. I am also a little bias because it is our hotel www.instagram.com/begonacliffhotel

Negril is known for its beaches and beautiful waters. But did you know that it also has some of the best restaurants in the West End? This article highlights the top 3 restaurants in Negril that have a variety of Jamaican food and Rum bars.
